I was having problems sending invoices on an older version of Quickbooks. One post said to try deleting the XPS printer, which I did. Did not solve the problem, and now I can't get the XPS printer back. When I try to reinstall through the protocol on the computer (Windows 10), everything looks normal until I click 'next' after selecting the XPS version 4 driver from the list of Microsoft printers. Then I get this message: Unable to Install Printer Some driver files are missing or incorrect. Reinstall the driver or try using the latest version Any ideas?
XPS Laptops & 2-in-1 PCs Designed to be the best Designed to be the best, with the highest quality resolution displays, exceptional build quality, unique materials and powerful features. One post said to try deleting the XPS printer. ErikLomen asked on. Windows update knocked out xps document writer for us and we couldn't email from quickbooks.
Most of the posts I have seen have been for actual, physical printers from other manufacturers. I just want the XPS writer back. Windows update knocked out xps document writer for us and we couldn't email from quickbooks. Quickbooks had error with link to trouble shooting update problems. Quickbooks said it is a windows problem. Went to MS support and talked with rep (clicked to call me and it is free). XPS document writer and XPS viewer are windows components. Could not check boxes on windows components with success.
I had to reinstall windows 10. That was last week. Reinstalled 2 out of 3 computers. Updates this week and same problem back.
Went on support.microsoft.com. Had then call again. Rep lost connection or hung up (unknown was polite). Went back online and got another.
She took my number and when we were disconnected she called back. She couldn't fix and wanted remote access. I said yes and went online and requested code. She hung up or the call was lost. She has not called back (still polite). I think microsoft is aware of this problem and does not have an answer at this time.
I also noticed that system restore settings were disabled. Could not restore back on both computers the first time. I enabled them and set restore points. The machine that went down today had the settings disabled again. One week and maybe 5 updates and we are going down again.
I am disabling updates on our machines. And I guess I will have to reinstall windows again on down computer. Big update coming in April from Microsoft.
